Ceaseless turnover in the job market is called "churning" and many jobless people feel victimized. I have knowledge of a guy that has mailed well over 1000 resumes with not one single bite. It would seem that's all he knows to do in the current job climate. Still I've got to ask him how many more resumes will he have to send out before he realizes he is doing a churning of your own? You know the old saying: if you don't want to go insane from doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results, then do something different.

So what can a people do that's different? Sure, keep mailing out those resumes, but remember this: not only are all jobs ephemeral, but ways of gaining employment also come and go and have a lifespan, which ends with, "The old way just doesn't work anymore."

Here are some suggestions:

- Install a video of yourself on a website selling yourself and what you're capable of doing for others and in turn, a fee.

- Talk to people, in other words, network, instead of only sending out resumes.

- Attend job coaching groups and hear what others are doing different.

- Develop a clientele for a trade or service you can provide and become your own manager.

- Have a look at job positions in foreign countries.

- Rather than looking for a job that will be full-time, with full benefits, think in terms of jobs that are more like gigs, that is, one time performance of a service or task.
